ROAD TEST
This week I try … a blonde boost
The lowdown
I am with Vincent at Headcase Hair for a mid-term colour pick-me-up with the latest Goldwell Silk Lift colour process. Vincent’s vision: blonde highlights around my face with hazelnut tones as a base colour, topped off with a dose of conditioning Goldwell Coloursense Champagne Toner. The aim is to neutralise the brassy tones my blonde hair starts to give off midway between appointments (apparently my hair “throws a lot of red”). Let’s call the colour code modern champagne with a touch of beige. Vincent’s plan is to create a clean neutral blonde while preserving the condition of my hair. Pain factor For me, hands-on-hair is guaranteed to elicit pleasure.
Downtime: Ninety minutes.
Results: Post blow-dry, my locks are shiny and feel well-nourished as the process has added extra lipids to soothe my damaged locks.
Where to get it Sydney: Headcase Hair, headcasehair.com.au.
Cost: from $250 for the colour process.
At home: Try Goldwell DualSenses Blondes & Highlights Anti-Yellow Shampoo and Conditioner, $25.45 each, goldwell.com.au.
