
How hot brushes became the shortcut to great hair

When quizzed on the real value of this suddenly-everywhere heat tool, John Pulitano, creative director and co-founder of Sydney salon Headcase Hair, says that while hot brushes have their limitations, they’re great for creating a specific look, namely straight or smooth, with a bend on the ends.
“You won’t achieve much of a curl with a hot brush as the barrel is [usually] too wide,” he tells Body+Soul. “The end result is more of a curve, [which is] great for a ’90s inspired blow-out.”
